Zoo-riffic!

Went to the zoo today with the Bocek and Ducker families. We kinda knew what to expect, not your typical zoo from the US. But we had fun with the kids. Weather today is warmer than yesterday, maybe low 70s, but people here are all bundled up in winter jackets. We get some looks walking around in shorts and t-shirts. Planning on going to get some good pizza tonight at a local restaurant with Jackie, Rich and Mya. Sophie is down taking a nap. She actually had a "I like Pop" mid-day event where I held my arms out to her and she came and walked into them. She also let me carry her around the zoo. Tricia has taught her how to give kisses and she is actually getting pretty good at it. Watch out boys! She is also catching on to high fives! We know that the language barrier is tough as we don't understand Vietnamese all that well, or really at all minus a few words and she has no clue what we are saying either, but we try our best and I think she knows some things we have been saying. Oh and you know that phrase "Its a small world?" Well Hank met a guy the is from St. Louis. For those natives you know the first question you always ask is, "where did you go to high school" Well he went to JBS and graduated in '92. He and his wife (now in Boston) just adopted a little boy from Hue, which is just north of Da Nang.

Showing her love......she is a snuggler when she wants to be.

My two girls.

All I can say is what a beautiful family!! Sophie looks so cute in the red jacket and the little red bow is perfect. Looks like you had a great time at the zoo. It was so neat listening to her make the sounds and it touches my heart to see both of you holding her. She loves you both you can tell. Give Sophie a hug for us and Sophie give your Mom and Pop a hug from grandma and granddad.Counting down the days till you all come home.

Love you
Grandma and Granddad

Incredible!!!! Sophie is blooming, and the best is yet to come.
I stare and stare at the pictures and hit the play button over and over to watch the 3 of you in motion. Love, love, love is in your life like you have never felt it before.
Glad you ventured out into the smog. I know your days are long, but well worth it to expose Sophie to the outside world.
I do have to say the music at the zoo would make me cry too.....horrible :)
